Working with a Producer
If offloading the heavy lifting that comes with audio engineering, session playing, quality control, scheduling, and creative guidance would allow you, as an artist, to immediately achieve your vision at a commercially viable level, then working with a producer is something you should consider.
Artists wishing to enlist the services of our Producer should be prepared to enter an agreement by signing a contract that outlines expectations of either side to guarantee smooth sailing as well as profit splitting of revenue derived from streaming, licensing, and physical sales etc. The percentages are negotiable and vary depending on the Artist's profile, label/management obligations, and creative involvement required of the Producer. This can be a complicated topic, so it's best to come to the conversation with a cursory knowledge of the topic. Ari's take has a great article about all the ways Artists and Producers share revenue from their collaborations with other stakeholders like labels and management.
